There are a handful of crucial steps to take when ironing out a website details before ever approaching a web designer. Over the next few weeks I will illustrate the approximate process that we use while conceptualizing projects.
Case Study: Cyber Personal Trainer
To provide specific examples I will base this tutorial on our latest internal project, Cyber Personal Trainer. The concept is simple, offer video personal training consultations where our fitness and nutrition experts create a custom diet and workout plan for individuals. Although, as we go through each step the concept will grow more refined and discover additional functionality needs for users. Each of my blog post will detail the following steps as they apply to this project.
- Researching your competition
- Researching keywords
- Selecting a domain name and developing unique branding
- Creating your menu structures and creating a sitemap
- Sketching out wireframes of key site pages
- Outlining functionality needs
- Creating site copy
The purpose of this series is to help individuals iron out site details and really get their thoughts down on paper. The more information you can provide a developer, the better understanding of the scope of work involved and lead to more open lines of communication.
